Mr. A.D. James, Jr. received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business from Langston University. He then served as Langston’s Director of Admissions and Records. He went on to earn his Masters degree in Business from Oklahoma State University. Following the completion of his master’s, Mr. James worked for Prairie View A&M for 34 years. He then served as Executive Director of Student Financial Services for Tuskegee University for nearly 20 years until his retirement in 2024. After retirement, Mr. James returned to Tuskegee University as a remote consultant to the financial aid Director for approximately one year. On August 1, 2025, he returned to Tuskegee University as the Executive Director of Student Financial Services on a temporary basis as the university seeks to identify a qualified candidate to be employed on a full-time basis.
Mr. James has served on Greater Texas Foundation’s board since 1994 and currently serves as a member of the Charitable Activities and Strategy & Learning Committees as well as Vice Chair of the Board.
He lives in Spring, TX with his wife, Sharon.
