Rural learners in Texas graduate high school at higher rates than their urban peers, but are less likely to enroll in a postsecondary institution. To increase college and career opportunities for rural students, Empower Schools is supporting the expansion of the Rural Pathway Excellence Partnership (R-PEP) to three new regions, Region 14, Region 1, and Region 16. A $750,000 grant will support the design, launch, and implementation of these R-PEPs to serve approximately 15 rural school districts.
