Jasper ISD brings needed education and workforce opportunities to adult learners and opportunity youth

In the Deep East Texas College and Career Alliance’s (DETCCA) service region, fewer than 22% of adults over the age of 25 have completed any form of postsecondary credential (source: U.S. Census Bureau). A $550,137 grant to Jasper ISD will enable DETCCA to introduce two new workforce pathways and expand existing programs to help adult learners and opportunity youth access education and workforce opportunities. The initiative, called Future Opportunities for Careers, Upskilling, and Success (FOCUS), includes a comprehensive suite of support services, such as career counseling, job placement assistance, financial aid guidance, and access to digital devices, to help adult learners persist and succeed.
