The University of Texas at San Antonio will launch the Cost of Experience Project with $299,870 from Greater Texas Foundation. This initiative is designed to provide comprehensive support, including peer mentoring, faculty coaching, and career development opportunities, to historically underserved populations, with a focus on first-generation and Pell-eligible juniors. The goal of the program is to increase third year to fourth year persistence rates. Each participating student will be part of a “familia,” consisting of a trained peer mentor and a faculty coach who will guide students through regular interactions, engagement in programmatic activities, networking, and advising. The program will also include monthly career-readiness seminars, workshops, job fairs, and an alumni network.
