In partnership with Excelencia in Education, the Council for Adult and Experiential Learning (CAEL) built a Latinx Adult Student Success (LASS) academy to help a cohort of postsecondary institutions identify areas of strength and need, and to take actionable steps to better serve their Latinx adult learners. With a $490,994 grant to the Strada Collaborative, CAEL will continue to work with four Texas institutions to address critical areas of need, including increasing Latinx adult enrollment, awarding credit for prior learning to Latinx adults, improving retention of Latinx adult students through personalized coaching, and helping Latinx adults navigate career options and connect to jobs. Participating institutions will include Austin Community College, South Texas College, Texas A&M Corpus Christi, and the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. This two-year initiative will launch in June 2022. For more information, visit https://www.cael.org/lp/lass or contact Rafael Pasillas at rpasillas@cael.org.
