Low-income adult learners often face financial and practical barriers that make it difficult to enroll in college, complete training, and advance into the workforce. With a $171,878 grant from Greater Texas Foundation, the Council for Adult and Experiential Learning, Inc. (CAEL) will help community colleges across Texas expand participation in SNAP Employment and Training, connecting eligible students with education and workforce training along with supports such as childcare, transportation, and advising. The two-year initiative will identify promising practices that can help colleges better connect financially disadvantaged learners to federal resources and opportunities.”
