In San Antonio, fewer than 25% of high school graduates earn a postsecondary credential within six years, while employers across Texas face widening talent shortages. To meet this crisis, CAVALRY’s Workforce Innovation and Apprenticeship Center, supported with a $540,000 grant from Greater Texas Foundation, acts as an intermediary to connect K-12, postsecondary institutions, and employers. The degree-based apprenticeship framework is built on stackable apprenticeship pathways, meaning students graduate with a degree, industry-recognized credentials, and a portfolio of verified professional experiences.
