The college roadmap for high school students in the Rio Grande Valley remains unclear due to institutional friction and siloed data, making it harder for students to earn and access college credits. With a $750,000 grant to Commit, two additional school district collaboratives and Texas Southmost College will integrate into a shared data system hosted by Region One ESC to build a stronger college pathways system across South Texas. By aligning dual enrollment pathways and providing quality advising, this effort will build college-bound momentum by helping more students earn up to 15 hours of dual credit tied to credentials of value and navigate a clearer path to postsecondary success.
