Texas Confronts the Gathering Storm Forum: TAMEST

$40,500 to The Academy of Medicine, Engineering and Science of Texas (TAMEST) (Austin, TX). The grant will fund a forum entitled Improving Math and Science Education: Texas Confronts the Gathering Storm for 30 public school K-12 math and science teachers, government and industry representatives, and other STEM education stakeholders at the James A. Baker Institute for Public Policy at Rice University. Outcomes of the forum included a comprehensive report that recommended essential changes for meaningful improvement in STEM education to be implemented in the next five to ten years.
